Budget Window Treatments for a Bedroom with Big Style

While they can be one of the most expensive aspects of a room’s decor, window treatments can really add a finishing touch to your design. Even though they can be the crowning glory of a room, they do not have to cost an arm and a leg. You can create a stylish complement to your bedroom by being sensible and staying within your budget. So if you find that you are a little short on funds, there is absolutely nothing to keep you from being creative when creating window treatments for your bedroom. Here are a few ideas that may work for you.

Wall Vases
You can dress your windows with several metal wall vases. Not only are these metal wall vases pieces or art, but they are a great way to embellish your walls and your windows. You can use light weight scarf valance fabric to add color to your window. Or if you have full drapes in your bedroom, you may want to use a couple of wall vases as holdbacks. You can find wall vases in a myriad of different styles, and many of them will work for you as you create a dramatic bedroom window.

To add a truly unique valance over the window in your master bedroom, you can simply mount three wall vases. Configure them with one on each side of the top of the window, and hang the last one over the top of the window. Then drape a valance scarf over the top of each vase and fill them with flowers or trailing vines to create a beautiful and unique window treatment that will not take a big bite out of your budget.

Budget Window Hardware
If wall vases do not appeal to you, then you may want to mount a couple of budget scarf holders. You can find lightweight material that is not expensive, and simply stitch along the sides of it to finish the edges. Then simply drape the light fabric over the budget holders to create a budget scarf valance.

Rather than purchase expensive holdbacks, use simple wrought iron plant hangers. They are stylish, and they will match the other metal decor in the master bedroom. This is a very budget friendly way to create a beautiful window in your bedroom without spending a lot of money on hardware for your window.

Customize with Embellishments
Another way to create beautiful windows while keeping the price tag low is to find some solid color drapery panels on sale, and embellish them yourself. Buy solid, neutral colored panels that are longer than you need. This way you can let them cascade onto the floor and form a puddle at the bottom.

Other ways to embellish your standard curtain panels is to use buttons, beads or fringe for embellishments. Look to see what you have on hand that would work, and if you do not have anything that is suitable, you can always visit the fabric or craft store. Look in the sale bins to see if any trim or ribbon is discounted as well.

Keep your curtains in mind whenever you visit your craft store to see what other things you can use to decorate your curtains. Whether you find tiny wire butterflies, faux gems or wire netting, you can use just about anything to create custom curtains that will be the crowning jewel in your bedroom.
