Five Guys Burgers and Fries opened March 8 in a 2,500-square-foot store at 313 Houston St. in downtown Fort Worth’s Sundance Square. The restaurant, operated by Monument Restaurants LLC, took over a portion of the space formerly occupied by Billy Miner’s next door to Cabo Grande.
With more than 750 locations in 40 states, Five Guys has opened more than 300 restaurants in less than five years.
“The burger business is a growing industry and we wanted to bring a great burger establishment to Sundance Square,†said Johnny Campbell, president and CEO of Sundance Square. “People will enjoy a great meal and the quick-serve ambiance of Five Guys.â€
This is the second new store to open in Sundance Square this year. Trinity Bicycles opened a 1,500-square-foot store at 343 Throckmorton St. the first week of March.
“It looks like it is going to be another great year for Sundance Square,†said Campbell. “In addition to interest on the limited space available today, we have a lot of inquiries for space that will be coming online in 2013 with the addition of the three new buildings we start construction on this year.â€
Sundance Square Management unveiled plans in November for the three buildings, including two that will define a future plaza space and one located on West 3rd Street. Sundance Square will begin construction on two of the buildings immediately after the Main Street Arts Festival concludes April 22.
