Downtown San Jose Farmers' Market Set To Open

Downtown San Jose Farmers' Market at San Pedro Square 19th season opens Friday, May 6th
The Downtown San Jose Farmers’ Market takes place 10 a.m.-2 p.m. every Friday, May 6th – Nov. 18th, 2011, at San Pedro Square (along San Pedro Street between Santa Clara and St. John streets). Call 408-279-1775 or visit www.sjdowntown.com for information.

For the second season, Kaiser Permanente has teamed with the San Jose Downtown Association to present the market and focus on healthful and “green” living. The market does not use plastic bags anymore so customers are encouraged to bring their own reusable bags.

Along with a variety of fresh seasonal produce, handmade goods, and ready-to-eat fare, averaging 35 booths per week, the Farmer’s Market features fun activities each month.

Opening Day Highlights on May 6th:
Free flowers for Mother’s Day (with $10 in produce purchase)
Live Music by Big Dog and the Bite
Free samples from Morocco’s restaurant, starting at noon.
