Old Town Alexandria Summer Concert Series

Alexandria, VA hosts a lot of wonderful events throughout the year. The historic town, with its prime location on the Potomac River, is a great setting for lively festivals, concerts and holiday celebrations. Here is a calendar of the summer Concert Venues!

•Music at Twilight Concerts are held at John Carlyle Park, 300 John Carlyle St. and feature local artists in performances of music ranging from concert band pieces to soft rock.

•Lunch Bunch Concerts are held at Canal Center Plaza, 44 Canal Center Plaza. This free concert series features a variety of musical entertainment.

•Alexandria Citizens Band Concerts are held at Market Square, 301 King St. in front of Alexandria City Hall

•Ben Brenman Park Concerts are held at 4800 Brenman Park Dr. This free concert series features area artists in performances of music ranging from concert band pieces to soft rock.

June 18 – 22, 2012, 5 – 9 p.m. Del Ray Music Week – Nightly performances from a variety of groups leading up to the
Del Ray Music Festival. Mt. Vernon Avenue.

June 21, 2012, 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. Music At Twilight Concert- Alexandria Singers, featuring pop choral.

June 22, 2012, 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. The Alexandria Citizens Band. Jazz, classical, patriotic and others.

June 23, 2012, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. The Del Ray Music Festival, a celebration of local music, food and community. Mount Vernon Recreation Center, 2701 Commonwealth Ave.

June 27, 2012 12 – 1 p.m. Lunch Bunch. The Russkie Musikanti, Russian folk music.

June 29, 2012 12 – 1 p.m. Concert by 2012 Serenade! Washington, DC Choral Festival: Market Square, 301 King St.

July 7, 2012, 4 p.m. City of Alexandria & USA Birthday

July 11, 2012, 12 – 1 p.m. Lunch Bunch Concert. Lea. Folk & contemporary acoustic music.

July 11, 2012, 7 – 8 p.m. Ben Brenman Park Concert. Jazz Foundry, traditional jazz.

July 12, 2012, 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. Music At Twilight Concert. Lesson Zero, Roots rock covers & originals.

July 13, 2012, 7:30-8:30 p.m. Alexandria Citizens Band Concerts. Marches, jazz,classical, patriotic and others.

July 25, 2012 12 – 1 p.m. Lunch Bunch Concert: Matthew Mills, Contemporary acoustic and flamenco.

July 25, 2012, 7 – 8: p.m. Ben Brenman Park Concert. Hand Painted Swinger, Pop rock.

July 26, 2012, 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. Music At Twilight Concert Alexandria Harmonizers, Men’s barbershop.

July 27, 2012, 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. The Alexandria Citizens Band, Marches, jazz, classical, patriotic and others.

Aug 2, 2012, 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. Music At Twilight Concert – The Hot Society Orchestra of Washington, 1920′s-1940′s Jazz.

Aug 3, 2012, 12:00 – 1:15 p.m. The U. S. Navy Band “Sea Chanters” perform a variety of music ranging from traditional choral music, including the sea chantey, to Broadway musicals. Market Square, 301 King St.

Aug 3, 2012, 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. The Alexandria Citizens Band, Marches, jazz, classical, patriotic and others.

Aug 8, 2012, 12 – 1 p.m. Lunch Bunch Concert: Project Natale, “Real” jazz

Aug 17, 2012, 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. The Alexandria Harmonizers, Men’s barbershop group, Market Square, 301 King St.
