Bank owned purchases are not all alike
IÂ am currently representing two buyers inÂ the purchase of bank-owned homes.Â Â I recall telling the first party that this was going to be difficult.Â "Steel yourself!", I said.Â "You don't know what you're in for!"Â And you know what?Â Â I was right.Â We're still struggling, and it's been incredibly frustrating, stressful, and difficult.Â Â Â So when another client told me thatÂ she wanted to make an offer on a bank -owned property, I said, "Whoa! Are you sure?!?"Â She was.Â And she did.Â And that has been a perfectly lovely transaction.Â The first buyers are saying, "Yup; everything you said it would be."Â Second client is looking at me like I have three heads.Â The moral here?Â (finally?)Â Don't assume it will be awful - but know that it can be.
