The day that so many residents of Southwest Austin
and Circle C
, in particular, have been waiting for is almost here! Whole Foods’ new store in The Shops at Arbor Trails is officially opening its doors on Tuesday, June 19th.
Opening day festivities from 8am-10pm will include music, food, a chance to check out the new store, and opportunities to meet Arbor Trails Store Team Leader Steph Steele. In addition, customers will discover the new name of the in-store bar after Whole Foods ran a contest on their blog to see who could give it the best name. A few of the favorites: ArBAR Trails, The Brew-bonnet Bar, Will and Mo’s Tavern (for William Cannon/Mopac). The festivities kick off at 7:30am with a community bread breaking ceremony (with free coffee).
In other Whole Foods news, the market recently joined the founding group of local businesses in the new Austin Green Business Leaders program. This new program promotes and celebrates local businesses that make green business practices a priority. According to Whole Foods, “the company is the only grocer in the group and also entered the group at the highest level-platinum-due to its ongoing efforts to increase its sustainable business practices.â€
