Multiculturalism can make the simplest of things rather odd. Athena is a lovely Greek corner restaurant in trendy park slope which is a perfect example. The restaurant is well appointed with murals of Greek seascapes and fake fire fireplace. Our waiter was hardworking and very enthusiastic, but obviously South American.
The food was first rate. I recommend the Calamari in a tomato and onion sauce. The Mycenae seafood platter was loaded with goodies, including salmon. Only problem there is no salmon in Greece, Salmon is an Atlantic or Pacific cold water fish and is not found in the Mediterranean. Oh well, go to Athena enjoy the food and have a chuckle about our politically correct society.
