Millennials’: The New Homebuying Generation

Millennials’: The New Homebuying Generation.

As the market continues to move forward towards recovery, the new homebuying consumers that are making waves are the Millenials. The new generation of homebuyers are more proactive, educated and preparing for homeownership.  Millennials consist of consumers between the ages of 18 to 34 and according to Trulia’s 2012 American Dream Survey, 43% of Millennials are already homeowners and most Millennials desire to own a home rather than rent.
Millennial Homebuyers

Through experience, I have learned that Millennials’ are technology driven and have educated themselves through the plethora of information available on the internet.

This generation of homebuyers are geared with iPods, iPhones, iPads and extremely optimistic about homeownership. They also utilize the Social Networks: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc…for their homebuying information. Millennials are also known for having an entreprenual mentality...their confident, and self-expressive.

Even though these buyers have the ability to learn and gain their homebuying knowledge on the internet. It is important to note that it is important to seek out an experienced and knowledgeable agent who is not only tech savvy but educated with the market in the community they are seeking to purchase in.

Realtors®/Realtists® provide:

Expert guidance through the homebuying process: many homebuyer under estimate the many requirements that is necessary for purchasing a home. Buying a home requires understanding of disclosure forms, inspection reports, preliminary reports, etc….It’s always best to hire a knowledgeable agent that will help homebuyers package the best deal, avoid delays or costly mistakes.

Objective information & Opinions: Even though  most homebuyers may have the opinion of others close to them…your agent will provide objective information about each property and answer important questions that will best suit your situation as well as let you know what the resale value may be in the future.

Negotiating Experience:

Agents are skilled and aware of the many factors that go into negotiating a deal…beyond the price of the offer.

Resources and Experience: When purchasing an investment as big as a home, homebuyers should never dismiss the expertise of an agent. They know the business, terminology, and have connections within the industry.

Code of Ethics: Furthermore all Realtors®/Realtists® are sworn and held to a strict code of ethics, that is based on professionalism and protection of the public.

Nothing excites me more than finding the best home for homebuyers. We have had the pleasure of working with Millennial homebuyers, especially within the last year and look forward to what 2013 has to bring.
