Matthew Broderick, Sarah Jessica Parker and the interior of 20 East 10th Street
“Sex and the City†star Sarah Jessica Parker and her actor husband, Matthew Broderick, spent several years house hunting downtown before finally settling on a 25-foot-wide townhouse in Greenwich Village last year. Now, 18 months later, the pair has listed their dream home for sale.
The townhouse, at 20 East 10th Street, hit the market today, according to Streeteasy.com and has a price tag of $25 million, significantly more than the $19 million the couple paid for it just last year. Parker and Broderick bought the property in March 2011, according to Streeteasy.com. The sellers were media magnate Cliff Ng and former fashion model Farrah Summerford.
The couple bought the property through an LLC named the Heirloom Trust, whose trustee is named as Frank Selvaggi, Parker’s friend and a co-chair of the Empire State Pride Agenda.
Stephen McRae and Debbie Korb of Sotheby’s International Realty are marketing the home on behalf of Parker and Broderick. The brokers were not immediately available to comment.
The Greek Revival-style townhouse features five bedrooms and 12-foot ceilings, according to the listing. It also has tight security systems, perfect for a celebrity, including security cameras that store data for up to a month.
Parker, well-known for her “Sex and the City†character’s Manolo Blahnik obsession, has been in regular attendance at New York Fashion Week, including at a Lincoln Center event celebrating designer Oscar de la Renta. The actress has reportedly been spotted apartment hunting this year. She even eyed some properties in Brooklyn. Sources told the Daily Mail that the actress’ 10th Street home does not offer her enough privacy.
