I moved here last year, now in the eighth grade. It took an hour and a half for me to even get my schedule. The uniform rules are so strict. You make these rules to protect kids, but they're really just hurting their pride. We have to wear strictly navy tops with khaki bottoms. No scrunchies. No jewelry. Nothing to show that I have personality. Not even colored socks, man. Not to mention the teachers respond to all the wrong things. So many girls at this school wear skirts that are literally as long as their underwear. But no, we need to focus on the scrunchies! Get over yourself. I believe that students should be allowed to have a little bit of fashion freedom. If they don't get the freedom they need, they'll rebel. Also, restricting fashion does hurt the student's confidence. They don't get the opportunity to show the real them. Onto the teachers. My technology teacher knows nothing about technology. Don't get me wrong, she's great- carefree, fun, keeps the students' interests in mind- but don't you think we should have a teacher that knows what they're doing? Not to mention, almost all of the teachers I've met have had just left us with videos to learn off of. They taught us NOTHING. The best teacher I had was Mrs. Gouner. She was my seventh grade teacher. You need to give her a raise or promote her. She cared deeply about her students and had the perfect personality to be a teacher. Not only is she caring, she is also the perfect amount of strict you need to be with a student. She had us write notes and such. I hope she gets the attention she needs. Now, lastly, the lunch. Many reviews I see on here are about how bad it is. That is not true. Most of their food is actually quite decent. I think the burger needs to be erased from my memory, though. It CHOKED me. I'm not lying. The bread is so thick and the meat... what the heck is in that thing? Also, we get ten minutes to eat. The lines are so long that they take all of lunchtime to get through them. One time I had 3 minutes to eat. Not kidding. They gave us five extra minutes... do you really think that's enough?

I love it at Dutchtown! I'm currently a sophmore, and the majority of my teachers have all been absolutely amazing and supportive. They really care about your success and want to help however they can. The club experiences are also really good. I'm in the Spanish and Be The Change club, and both are extremely inclusive and just fun in general. There are so many opportunities and programs to be a part of, and its just a fun place to be.

I rate this school, definitely with 10 stars, because I have came across some beautiful spirits. Learning is a number one priority at this school. What I can’t take is the way they try to talk and handle grown ups. Safety is always first, but this school has made mistakes, simple ones. The principal need to teach her staff how to respect others, and how to address simple situation's, like not yelling at them and demanding them to do something, what about just simply asking them nice with some RESPECT. I can’t take no one yelling and trying to handle me any kind of way for a miss understanding, especially if you’re lack of knowledge on the situation. Point blank! Other than that, it’s a great school.
