    The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® announced the results of its June report which found that pending home sales for single-family homes were up nearly 20% from a year before.  The median prices of homes put under contract was up 4% from the same time last year.

  • PRICES UP IN MASSACHUSETTS - APRIL 2014

    The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) has reported that the continuing trend of strong buyer demand and a shortage of homes for sale pushed prices up. The median selling price for single-family home in April was $320,000 which was up 2.3 percent from $312,750 in April 2013. This is the 19th straight monthly year-over-year increase. On a month-to-month basis, the April median selling price was up 1.9 percent from $314,063 in March.

  • Best April for Pending Home Sales since Data has been Tracked - Massachusetts

    The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) has reported that pending home sales for single-family homes had its biggest April since MAR began tracking pending home sales in January 2004. 

    The number of single-family homes put under agreement in April was up 3.6 percent compared to the same time last year (5,753 homes in 2014 from 5,555 homes in 2013). This is the 14th straight month of year-over-year increases. This represents the most homes put under agreement in April since MAR has been tracking this data. On a month-to-month basis, single-family homes put under agreement went up 11 percent compared to 5,185 homes put under agreement in March.

    How are we looking so far?
    Sales are strong, and we are enjoying a busy and active spring market here in Berkshire County.

    The Berkshire Board of Realtors has reported:

    • In the first quarter of this year residential sales jumped to $65 million transacted up over 36% from last year at the same time.
    • The number sold increased 6% percent, from 183 transactions up to 295 for the first quarter of 2014.

    The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) has reported that pending home sales for single-family homes  went up again in March compared to the same month in 2013.  

    The number of single-family homes put under agreement in March was up 15 percent compared to the same time last year (5,185 homes in 2014 from 4,507 homes in 2013). This is the 13th straight month of year-over-year increases. This is the most homes put under agreement in March since 2004 when there were 5,501 homes. 
     
    The median sales price of single-family homes put under agreement in March was $314,000, which was up 8.3 percent from $290,000 in 2013.

    The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) has reported that the real estate market continued its strong start to 2014 as pending home sales for single-family homes went up again in February compared to the same month in 2013.
     
    The number of single-family homes put under agreement in February was up 20.4 percent compared to the same time last year (3,587 homes in 2014 from 2,980 homes in 2013). This is the 12th straight month of year-over-year increases. This is the most homes put under agreement in February since 2004 when there were 3,612 homes. On a month-to-month basis, single-family homes put under agreement went up 13.8 percent compared to 3,151 homes put under agreement in January.

    The median sales price of single-family homes put under agreement in February was $295,600, which was up 7.5 percent from $275,000 in 2013.
