Alanton neighborhood in Virginia BeachWhat a super neighborhood! Alanton has some really great homes and some SUPER views. The neighborhood is tucked away off Great Neck Road against the water. It juts out into the water between Linkhorn Bay and Broad Bay. Many of the waterfront homes have views of the opposite shore where we have First Landing State Park and Narrows Beach. The neighborhood has a great rural feel with mature trees, flowers, and often, 1 acre+ yards. Boaters in this area access the ocean from the Lynnhaven Inlet, under the Lesner Bridge and through the Chesapeake Bay.

Alanton has a VERY active civic league. They actively represent the neighborhood to the city and help keep the neighborhood's rural feel. They encourage residence to attend their meetings and give input. The hold Easter Egg hunts, picnics, and a 4th of July parade with hundreds of participants. This is followed by the Grand Picnic. The organizers put up pictures of every event on the Civic League's website. which is www.Alanton.org. They also have a facebook page at www.facebook.com/alanton.civic.league.

Local points of interest very close to Alanton include First Colonial High School, Frank W. Cox High School, Cape Henry Collegiate School, Alanton Elementary, Sandee Lake, Broad Bay, Linkhorn Bay, Sentara Nursing Center, Broad Bay Point Greens Country Club, and tons of shopping on Great Neck Road.

Alanton currently has 15 active listings on the MLS. They range from $445,000 to $6,000,000, 3 bedrooms to 6 bedrooms, 2,104 sqft to 18,000 sqft. Average price is over 1.7 million. Average sqft is over 5,000 sft. There are a bunch of homes for sale between $700,000 and $800,000. The neighborhood is in the First Colonial High School District. There is a wide wide wide variety of home ages. Most seem to be from 1960 to 2012. However, one home, "Old Comfort" is for sale. It was one of the first three homes built in the neighborhood in the early 1830s. The land was previously used for farming. and there is at least one home being built, for sale, there now. There are currently no shortsales and one foreclosure (for sale) here. 6 of the homes have pools. 8 of them are waterfront. 13 of them have over 1 acre of land!

Here's another great home in College Park! It's 6352 Bucknell Circle, an all brick ranch with approximately 2300 square feet in the Tallwood High School District. The home has an all wood entryway. The entryway leads right into a formal living room. It is very elegant! Off that room is the formal dining room. The dining room has chair railing, hard wood floors and beautiful wallpaper. Off the dining room, as you might expect, is the kitchen. There's ceramic tile, a pantry, and appliances. There is a nice dual sink and plenty of counter space.

The dining room leads into the large family room. In here there are installed bookshelves, dual ceiling fans and a wood burning stove! Off the family room is a flex room that is currently being used as an office. There is a working fireplace and ceramic tile. The flex room and entryway both lead into the hallway. On the hallway is a full bathroom with tile. The hallway leads to two excellent sized bedrooms.

Turning left off the hallway is the master bedroom. The Master bedroom is large and has it's on full bathroom. There's a ceiling fan, and a light fixture. There is a personal vanity and giant walk in closet. The family room leads into a Virginia Beach Homes For Salefinished sunroom with a large wood ceiling/fixture. The room is heated and cooled and has beautiful brick walls. The sliding glass doors lead out onto the deck.

The home is in the sought after Tallwood High School District. Again, it's in College Park. Very close to the Interstate, so lower commute times. There is shopping close by. For more information on this lovely home, head on over to VirginiaBeachResidence.com. You can also search the site by neighborhood or High School District. Thanks!
