    Cody is an Agent who, when her back was against a wall, approached me to ask if she could participate in our weekly accountability meetings.  For months, every Friday we would speak on the phone for around 20 minutes. Cody and I would review all that she had done in the past week to procure new business.  It was difficult to do this week after week but she stayed focused, stayed patient, and engaged in consistent actions to create new business.  It took over 6 months before she began to see the results of her efforts – but it certainly paid off.  Cody currently has 6 properties under agreement.

    When I asked her what the secret to her success is her response was “following up” with every cold, warm or hot lead, sending out thank you cards, making that phone call, and not procrastinating; just doing it.  She also works her database growing it weekly with new buyer and seller leads. She calls her new leads and follows up with an e-mail.  Cody calls it “stirring the pot”.  She stirs into her database and comes out with a new lead.

    When Cody spoke of technology she said that she meets with Christine Pierce on a regular basis, writes a weekly blog, and makes sure she is searchable on Google – just to mention a few things.  As a result Cody can associate direct sales because of these weekly, proactive tasks online.

    I am very proud of Cody.  She is not only a great Realtor she is also a fantastic mom and still finds time every week to give back to her community.  Whether it is working with her church group or working with the local Girl Scouts troop she makes sure to be active in her children’s life as well.  Cody  is an inspiration – one we can all look up to.

    Great news...we just ran the 2010 numbers and SUCCESS! is still on top on the South Shore.  Here is a summary of our 2010 stats:

    • We are #3 in the STATE for the second year in a row (For Real Estate Offices)
    • We are #1 in BRAINTREE, CANTON, ROCKLAND, MARSHFIELD, and PEMBROKE (Total units sold per MLS)

    Marlene Wasserstein was one of my more interesting interviews in determining how she worked her way up to being one of SUCCESS! Real Estate’s top producers.

    When asked “what is the number one thing that drives your business?” her immediate response was “follow-up”.  She clearly understands the importance of this basic technique and follows through each and every time.  Marlene has carved out her niche – which is working with seniors.  Her skills include being patient, diligent, following up and following through with your commitments to these clients.

    Marlene also gains a lot of business from her past clients.  Every day on her way to work she calls 10 different past clients, future clients,  and general leads doing  whatever it takes to hit that “10 calls” goal every morning.  She knows the importance of staying in touch with past clients and reaching out to them several times a year.  For example, contacting them on their birthday or anniversary or any other special occasion.   How does she manage this?  She uses Shutterfly.com to help her keep in touch.  She sends out at the end of January all last year’s past clients HUD statements.  She sends out calendars along with other marketing material. 

    So what is Marlene’s secret?  She has a business plan that she sticks to allowing her to accomplish everything mentioned above.  She has mastered asking the right questions, listening to what her clients say, and mastering her sales skills.   Her hard work, her dedication, and her commitment are what make her January’s SUCCESS! Agent of the Month.  Congratulations!
