The holidays are officially over for Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach homeowners
. The presents are unwrapped, the pies are eaten, the cookies are gone, and the leftovers are in the refrigerator. Now we embrace the task of taking down the tree, putting all the decorations away, and finding places for all those great presents.
What do you do with that live Christmas tree? Recycle it! There are plenty of places offering Christmas tree recycling throughout our area, and in most cases, they’ll even pick up your tree for you.
If you live in Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach or Hermosa Beach, place your live tree out the day of your trash collection from December 26 until January 13 for free curbside pickup
If you live in Torrance, live trees may be placed at the curb
alongside your trash container from December 27 through January 12 for free curbside pickup.
Please however follow these guidelines when recycling your live Christmas tree this year.
·    Trees must be placed at the curb by 6:00 AM on your regular collection day (trees will not be collected on a request basis other days of the week).
·    Remove all tinsel and decorations, and tree stands.
·    The hauler cannot collect a tree longer than 6 feet. If the tree is longer than 6 feet, the resident is responsible to cut the tree to meet the 6 foot requirement.Â
·    Flocked trees will be collected but not recycled.
Thank you for helping to make our environment a little greener, from all of us at the Hoffman Murphy Team
