Finding a Forever Home is More Difficult Than Breathing Underwater
I have been vigilant in my search for a home for my family for these past few months and I've concluded that HGTV has created unrealistic expectations for finding a home. If it isn't difficult enough to get a web search that doesn't ask me to pay $1.00 (apparently special just for me!), I keep finding homes that meet my criteria that don't...have...phone...numbers...that...W-O-R-K...
Why is this so difficult?
All I want is a 3 bedroom home with 1.5 baths built after 2000...with carpet. That's it. I consider that pretty plain! In order to understand my request, I guess you have to understand my plight, right? Well, I live in Midwest City, not a bad town if you live in the right area. I, however, do not live in the right area. I live two streets away from what has most recently been deemed 'murder row'. Now, you tell me how comfortable YOU would feel when your husband works away from home for a week at a time every other week. Also to mention I have a two year old son, so if a crazy axe murderer (or the more likely armed robber) breaks into my house and kills us both, it would take my mysterious no call, no show at work for anyone to begin to wonder about me. Hence my main reason for being borderline OCD about being at work ALL THE TIME.
So, Oklahoma City is the strangest place I've read/heard about in the last 10 years. We go from ghetto to Galardia in a matter of addresses, yet this abnormality is curiously contained to their designated areas...exceot for my neighborhood. Two years ago when we moved here this place was alright. Over the last few months the crime rate has been slithering its way up to my street.
WE NEED OUT! Can anyone with even an ounce of knowledge assist me in finding a home that meets my criteria and is ready to move in to in the next month. Please!
