Mobile Homes in California

Do you currently own a mobile home registered with the State of California?  If so, are you sure that the title to the home is correctly registered in your name?

If you don't know the answer to this question - you should pull out a copy of the Certificate of Title or Registration Card that you received after you purchased the mobile home and make sure it is in your name.  If it's not, before deciding to sell your home or refinance, I would suggest contacting the State of California Department of Housing via their website at www.hcd.ca.gov before moving forward.

Just like a car, the title of the mobile home must be in your name before you can sell.  The ONLY exception is if you are an heir and you acquired ownership of the mobile home through the death of the Registered Owner.

If you have any questions, please contact the undersigned at www.TamaraStoebe.com or via phone at (661) 466-6849.
