Austin, Texas, may be the Live Music Capital of the World®, but they have plenty more to offer than just music. Here are a few things to do in Austin this month.

Think.Do.Make Exhibit

When: Every Saturday until August

Price: Included in admission; Adults - $6.50; Children - $4.50-$6.50; Children under 12 months – Free)

Bring out the kids for a thrilling day at the Austin Children’s Museum’s Think.Do.Make Exhibit. It is a fresh mix of science and engineering, served with a creative twist of art, invention and design/build challenges. The Exhibit is a sneak preview for the new museum coming to Mueller late this year.

“A Food Adventure” Sponsored by Farmhouse

When: May 5, 2013, 6:00 p.m.

Price: $150 per ticket

Farmhouse Delivery is a proud host this event, which will introduce Gracie Cavnar and her latest children’s book. The family style dinner will be a celebration of organic and locally sourced ingredients. The culinary players will be James Beard, chef Rene Ortiz and pastry chef Laura Sawicki. Come out to support “Recipe for Success,” a local non-profit. You are sure to have a delicious and unforgettable experience.

2012 Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Famer: Ian McLagan & The Bump Band

When: Every Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

Price: Free

Come out to the Lucky Lounge on any Thursday this month to experience the sweet sound of Ian McLagan. This rock ‘n roller has toured and recorded with a handful of notable rockers from Bob Dylan to Bruce Springsteen. The man known as ‘Mac’ will be sure to give you a night of great music that you will never forget.

36th Annual O. Henry Museum World Championship Pun-Off

When: May 18, 2013, Contest runs from noon – 5:00 p.m.

This annual gathering of punny people will be sure to give you a good laugh. Even after 36 years the pun-off continually keeps people coming back for more. Come out for the greatest entertainment from some powerful punsters who are outstanding in their field.

4th Annual Golf Classic

When: May 20, 2013, 11:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Price: Starting at $200

Join the fun at Twin Creeks Country Club for an afternoon on the greens. Tee time is at 1:30 p.m. with plenty of food and fun throughout the day. Take advantage of the chance to support the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, a vital child safety education and outreach effort.
