One of the things Austin is well known for is our love of the arts. We like to foster a love of all things artistic from a young age, too. If you have a 3-5 year old child and would like to get them started in an artistic endeavor, you should bring them to Austin Kids Art in the Park this Saturday morning.
What: Austin Kids Art in the Park
Where: Big Stacy Park, 700 E Live Oak St
When: August 10, 2013, 10am
Cost: $10 per child
Austin Children's Academy of the Arts has been hosting their Austin Kids Art in the Park workshop all summer long. This Saturday, August 10th, is the last chance for your children to join in on the experience. For their final art workshop, the ACAA will be delving into the world of puppets. Participants will learn about finger puppets, shadow puppets, hand puppets and more. Your kids will even have the opportunity to create two of their own puppets with materials provided by ACAA.
The whole point of Austin Kids Art in the Park goes beyond creating a love of and interest in the arts. These workshops help children develop their fine motor skills, teach them how to work together, learn how to solve conflicts and get creative in a fun environment. If you're interested in signing up for tomorrow's Austin Kids Art in the Park workshop, please email the ACAA.
