  • Is the Goverment Shut Down Affecting the Real Estate Market?

Posted Under: General Area in Charlotte, Market Conditions in Charlotte, Agent2Agent in Charlotte  |  October 7, 2013 8:59 AM  |  42 views  |  2 comments

I've heard some local agents say that the government shutdown could affect the real estate market.  I personally have not seen anything different in my business but I know it could impact the ability of lenders to get IRS verification and USDA loans.  Any thoughts?
  • Is the Foreclosure Market Over?

Posted Under: Market Conditions in Charlotte, Home Buying in Charlotte, Agent2Agent in Charlotte  |  March 30, 2013 9:49 AM  |  94 views  |  1 comment

I have been working with buyers looking for foreclosures for years.  For the past 3-4 years there were a ton of foreclosed homes to choose from.  But recently it seems that the number of foreclosures for my clients to choose from has gone down significantly.  Is this a sign of things to come?  Will the foreclosure market all but dry up?  Is this a good thing for our local Charlotte real estate market?

    Let's hear your thoughts!
  • My Business Is Up 60%!

Posted Under: General Area in Charlotte, Market Conditions in Charlotte, Agent2Agent in Charlotte  |  June 6, 2012 2:05 PM  |  106 views  |  1 comment
No kidding...my business is up 60% over last year and it's only June!  So, what's the reason for this increase?  Is it the market, new leads, old leads, or just my awesomeness?  That is a word right?

I personally think that market conditions are improving in the greater Charlotte area and this has something to do with it.  Also, I have a new lead generation system that has paid off some.  But for the most part, I think it comes down to going back to the basics.  Much of my business comes from referrals from past clients.  I have tried very hard over the past 2 years to reach my past clients in some way several times a year.  It's good to remind people that you are STILL in the business and ready to serve their needs or someone they know.

Take care of your clients...no matter what!  And, they will take care of you.

I would love to hear what others think.  Please send your comments!
  • Is January a "Tell Tale" sign?

Posted Under: Market Conditions in Charlotte  |  February 4, 2012 3:25 PM  |  162 views  |  No comments
Every January I usually spend preparing for the new year in real estate.  I get my continuing education credits out of the way, spend time on my business plan, consider new marketing ideas, and so on.  But this year has been the busiest January I have had in 9 year of real estate sales.  I have taken several listings, worked with 5 buyer clients, pick up several buyer clients for later in the spring, and taken more than 3 dozen calls/emails from leads that I get.  Wow!  Now is this a sign of a better market or 2012 or just a busy January?  I guess we will find out.  Let me know what you are seeing in the market so far in 2012.
  • Lesson for December: Finish Strong!

Posted Under: General Area in Charlotte, Market Conditions in Charlotte, Agent2Agent in Charlotte  |  December 1, 2011 11:56 AM  |  468 views  |  No comments
If I have learned anything about the real estate business in the last 8 years for December it is that you CAN finish strong.  December is a time where you can lay back on your achievements for the last 11 months and take time to enjoy this slower month.  However, for those like me who want to go that extra bit and pave the path for a successful 2012, it's time to be back to work and make it happen this last month of the year.  Follow up on all leads, don't stop those weekly mailings, keep sending out those "thank you" cards, knock on a few doors on the weekends, keep looking for those FSBO's, keep calling past clients for referrals....keep pushing, don't stop, no slacking, push push...PUSH!!!  That's how you finish strong in December.

I am so very thankful for my clients this year.  It's been a tough few years in real estate and this year was a turn around year for me and it was my clients that made that possible.  So THANK YOU!  Looking forward to a strong finish for 2011 and a great 2012!

Starting my broker-in-charge class today.  4 hours today and 8 hours tomorrow.  Should be fun!  I'm sure it will be 90% on how to handle trust accounts.  I just hope I can learn a few things that I can apply to my business.
