Well I am writing this blog as I start my 5th full week of 2012. Since the beginning of the year I have found myself busier (and more productive) than I have been in years! An 8 hour day has just not been cutting it lately. NO COMPLAINTS HERE!Â
The market here is booming and things that are priced well are selling quicker than you can get a sign in the yard..literally! I had a home that I was inputing and had 2 offers in during the first 24 hours it was on the market! Buyers have been coming out of the wood work and I LOVE it!Â
With all the hussle and busssle we are starting to run low on inventory in the DFW area...that is not a terrible problem but it does make things a little more challenging. You have to move fast if you like what you see!
Here's to keeping the momentum and having a great 2012!
Weather have you trapped indoors? Take this time to ORGANIZE!!! Think about the spaces that may be out of sight and out of mind that need your attention...here's a quick list of some things that may have not gotten your attention lately:
Medicine Cabinet (throw out out of date meds)
Behind Washer/Dryer (vaccuum, pick up hangers and items that have fallen)
Junk Drawer (we all have one...clean it out!)
File Cabinet (how long have you kept paperwork...consolidate)
Closet (out of style, date or doesn't fit...donate!)
Kitchen Sink (organize your cleaning supplies)
Bathroom Sink (combine like soaps, through out empty bottles)
Hall Closet (extra blankets? Great time to donate blankets to those in need!)
Fridge (throw out outdated food and wipe down inside)
For the over achievers...
1. Go through pens and markers and throw out what doesn't work
2. Mend clothes missing buttons, sew up holes or sew on patches
3. Organize pantry with labels facing out for easy finding
4. Tilt couches over and grab the change, socks etc
5. Go through sock drawer rid of socks with out pairs!!!
This should keep you busy for a while...it will make you feel better, refreshed and less cluttered! What a great head start on SPRING CLEANING!
My Mama always said the older you get the faster time goes...boy was she ever right! It's December 8th 2010! Seems like the last 10 years have really gone by fast. It has me thinking about the next 10 years and what it may have in store for me, my family and my career. What will real estate be like in 10 years? How healthy will I be? How many nieces, nephews or children will I have? Will I live in the same home? Will facebook still be around or will it be the new myspace? :-) I challenge each of you to look at the years past and make an effort to set some real goals...not that you want to wear a size 6 but some life goals. What kind of person do you strive to be? What changes can be made in your daily life to mold that new person. What type of role model are you to those who look up to you? What has changed about you in the last 10 years?Life flies by and it is only going to get faster...slow down today and do a little self-searching. Enjoy the people around you and be a person that other's enjoy to be around.
**If someone you know mentions real estate...please mention me!
I have been on Twitter for quite sometime now and I have just recently really started to try and figure it out more in depth. What I would really like to know is what is the best way to use it in real estate? How many of you have been successful with twitter or use it on a daily basis to expand your market reach? I would love to hear from you and any tips would be greatly appreciated. There is a book out called "Twitter for Dummies" and I am strongly thinking about buying it to stay on top of the ever-changing technology world!
Look around you and your community...there is so much work to do and so little volunteers. Our office, Century 21 Judge Fite, in Mansfield has decided to change that! Helping others is not always about giving money but can also be about giving time...everyone has time to give, maybe an afternoon to pick up trash or a weekend to help restock a food pantry. Whatever the task, making yourself available for some type of "giving back" activity will not only help others around you but will fill you in ways you cannot imagine. We would like to challenge you today to get busy doing something to better the world around you. If you would like to join our team of volunteers please let me know! Happy Helping!

We have seen a down pour over the last 24-36 hours in the Mansfield area causing Walnut Creek to rise over roads, through homes and sweeping away fences! We have seen some flooding like this before but this seems to have snuck up on us. I drove around today to see what areas were affected and there were multiple roads blocked. I talked to Jan Cox, owner of Steven's Garden and Grill in Downtown Mansfield and their overflow parking was under water. She said "the rain has stopped but the water is still rising some". Mansfield police department was out and about reminding citizens to "TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN". Water rushes over South Walnut Creek encompassing Katherine Rose Park and a majority of the linear parks. We hope and pray the rain and the water will subside and we can begin clean up around the beautiful city of Mansfield.
