Southern California Home for Sale/Cheap

I have recently had the pleasure and honor to list the home of an old friends mother-in-law's home.  The owner is an elderly lady that has lived in the home for quite a long time.  The home is is over 50 years old and in original condition.  I have been overwhelmed by the response to this home.  I believe the home is in great demand because it is priced well and is an equtiy sale in a land of short sales and foreclosures, Riverside County, California.  Not normally working in this area, I researched the area and the comparables before suggesting a price to the seller and family.  Thinking I might have priced the home even too high, I was completely surprised to have over 15 offers in the matter of a week and a half.  I found myself completely blown away by this response and my reaction to the people who desired to purchase the home.  Never before in my six year stint in this business have I seen such eager and hungry to buy buyers.  I felt a bit of depression having to tell the agents no, we have accepted another offer.  I felt bad for the buyers that have been trying to find a home only to be turned away for one reason or another.  This is a tough market to buy in when most homes are short sale or in such bad condition they don't qualiffy for FHA or conventional financing.  So goes affordable housing when the  buyer cant't actually find a home, even when they have been qualified.

Sorry to the folks that wanted this home.  I wish I could sell it to all of you.  We had to think of the little old lady who lived there once and needs the money to live in retirement for how many more years God has given her in her already 91 years of life. I wish the best to all of you and hope that a home is in your future.
