Boulder County has announced that the
Boulder County Energy Corps will offer free basic home energy assessments between November and April. The Energy Corps will try to visit 20 homes each Saturday. Some basic home energy improvements will be made during the visits.
Assessments will be scheduled through community groups like homeowners associations and neighborhood organizations. To participate, organizations can contact Beth Beckel at bbeckel@bouldercounty.org or 303-441-3522.
Besides offering advice that could reduce energy consumption and utility bills, Corps members will install compact
florescent light bulbs, low-flow shower heads, programmable thermostats,
weather stripping and clotheslines, the county said. There will be no charge for the improvements.
