We've long since passed the time when, as Realtors, we would mention Allen, Texas to an incoming buyer and they would not have ever heard of it. Allen is the little city (geographically) that absolutely rocks with online views from buyers. Just yesterday, Allen, TX got 65 hits from prospective buyers on Trulia.com. That's one MORE than Plano (size-wise, Plano could gobble up Allen 6-7 times over), and almost three times more hits than Richardson.
Great schools, great shopping, great commute time to downtown and DFW airport, great restaurant choices and great neighborhoods make for a pretty easy sell in any market conditions. Showing homes in Allen doesn't typically take a sales pitch. And, now, we have buyers coming from other states asking if we have any homes to show them in Allen. They've turned the table on us and are requesting to view homes in Allen.
Allen is over 20% of my annual sales volume year after year. It's very important to me, and I think it has a great name, too.
