My blog today isn't about real estate. I just want to take a moment to remember Paul Newman. A good actor. A devoted Husband (I personally adored his quote about having a steak at home, so why would he go out for hamburger?). A thrill-seeker who found other activities to do outside his chosen profession. A humble man. He didn't look back at movie reviews or get wrapped up in the Hollywood scene. A man who didn't like to sign autographs or believe his own press. A man who knew money and fame didn't make you better than anyone else. A man with a sense of humor. A giving man.
We look around for those positive examples in life, the ones who make their life bigger and take on more - and who do it for others and not for themselves. That is the difference. Those become the role models. They don't even want that position. They just want to live a good life and do for others.
Sometimes, in real estate, we see the excesses in life. We encounter people with too much money and not enough substance. They aren't bad people. It's easy to get caught up in the money or the hype. In memory of Paul Newman, I would just like to ask anyone who reads this blog to stop and reflect for a moment on their own inner core. Are you a positive domino who spreads good to others and keeps the line moving, or are you the domino that is turned a little bit in the wrong direction and brings things to a halt?
