Did you know that if you rent a car and use your debit card that many rental car companies will run a credit check….

YUP…. not paying with a credit card sends that little red flag that maybe you could be a credit risk and maybe should not be trusted with a 25,000 + car/truck.

And of course… that credit check will show up on your credit score as an inquiry and IF you are in the process of relocating or buying a home… could affect your credit and drop your FICO to up to 14 points.

     The best solution:

Avoid using your debit card and USE A CREDIT CARD instead….

You won’t have to worry about a credit check being run.

If you must use a debit card…

call head and check with the car rental agencies to see if their policy is to run a credit check  ….

avoid using the agency if they do.

Did you know that buying furniture can LOWER your credit score....

When you buy furniture from a furniture retailer ….
and you finance it through their finance company…

it can LOWER your credit rating….

WHY… this type of credit is viewed as “lenders of last resort”  …

They use a finance company to fund a loan.  Some merchants use finance companies for in-store credit – such as 90 days same as cash -

They are reported as “revolving debt”.

If you get a $1500 credit limit from furniture store and
you buy a $1200 living room set,

the credit bureau views that as just about MAXED OUT…

DING >>> you just LOWERED your credit score…

    When buying your home ….

The FICO’S credit scoring system grades the types of loans you have in your credit report.

With the right mix of credit & paying your bills on time…can save you $$$ when applying for a mortgage…
