The great news for veterans and active military is that VA home loan requirements only require a two year wait after a borrower completed a short sale before they can apply for a VA home loan in California. This is great news if you are VA eligible and you have a short sale two years ago. You can now get back into the market and buy a home at sometimes half the price and with rock botttom VA loan interest rates.
One of the keys is the check the date the deed for the short sale transfered out of your name. This is the date you need to begin counting the two year wait from. Feel free to email me at 858-922-7899 or call me at homeloan8@gmail.com if you are buying in California and would like me to research the date the deed trasfered out of your name in a short sale.
Another thing is try to have the best credit you can following the short sale. This means do not be late on any accounts and do not allow any collection accounts, judgements, etc...
Feel free to email me or call me if you have any questions about VA or any other type of mortgage financing.
