Driving around Banff National Park in Canada. Great destination. Check out Chateau Lake Louise, Jasper, Glacier National Park. If you haven't been there...GO!...and enjoy!

Banff National Park is Canada's oldest national park, established in 1885 in the Rocky Mountains. The park, located 110–180 kilometres (70–110 mi) west of Calgary in the province of Alberta, encompasses 6,641 square kilometres (2,564 sq mi)[1] of mountainous terrain, with numerous glaciers and ice fields, dense coniferous forest, and alpine landscapes. The Icefields Parkway extends from Lake Louise, connecting to Jasper National Park in the north. Provincial forests and Yoho National Park are neighbours to the west, while Kootenay National Park is located to the south and Kananaskis Country to the southeast. The main commercial centre of the park is the town of Banff, in the Bow River valley.

Are you looking for a great hike? Or maybe you simply want to try bungee jumping off an 84 year old arched bridge located in the middle of nowhere? This is your spot!

The Bridge to Nowhere — built in 1936 and located north of Azusa, California in the San Gabriel Mountains — was meant to connect the San Gabriel Valley with Wrightwood; but, the great flood of 1938 washed out the road that was still under construction.

The project was abandoned, which left a cool bridge in the middle of the Sheep Mountain Wilderness. Basically, the only way to get to the bridge is via a nine-mile round trip hike or on horseback.

Let me tell you: it’s well worth the hike.

I did the hike few days ago, and it was a great workout — make sure you bring lots of water. I would say the most challenging thing when you hike to the bridge was probably crossing the river without getting wet! There is a trail by the river that takes you to the bridge but you need to cross the river at least five times.

Now, we hiked in September and we barely made it without getting wet. If you planning on doing the hike in spring, make sure to bring few extra pairs of socks.

Once you make it to the bridge, you will be amazed. A beautiful arched bridge standing out there all by itself. The bridge is privately owned and famous in Southern California for its bungee jumping. The private company who runs the bungee business, Bungee America, offers six different types of bungee jumps:

    1)   Single Jump

    2)   Twin Jump Package

    3)   Supreme 3 Jump Package

    4)   Quadruple 4 Jump Package

    5)   Extreme Jump Package

    6)   Night Jumps Package

They also offer group discounts so drag your friends along for the experience.

  • Tennis Celebrities at the Vijay Amritraj Foundation Charity Event in Calabassas.

It has been over six years now since I met Vijay Amritraj for the first time and had the chance to play a few times with him on the tennis court.

I have to say Vijay is a true gentleman. For those of you that have never heard of him, Vijay was a famous tennis player in the 1970s and through out the ’80s. He was ranked in the top ten in the world and played all the top players such as Jimmy Connors and John McEnroe. In fact, I remember seeing him play against my favorite player as a kid — a  famous Swedish player named Bjorn Borg. Gosh, at the time I was probably only five years old. I also remember Vijay being in the James Bond movie Octopussy with Roger Moore.

Now, if you have never seen Vijay or Jimmy Connors in action, you definitely need to save this upcoming weekend for this fun event: the 5th annual Vijay Amritraj Foundation Charity Weekend in October.

This year the event will have a tennis day on October 29th which will feature a variety of exhibition matches, including pro singles, pro doubles and pro celebrity matches.  The evening will also provide an opportunity to socialize and network with food and wine from five o’clock onwards.

On October 30th the evening will begin at six with a reception and dinner followed at eight with a unique opportunity to see a live, 90-minute performance by the incredible The Beach Boys!  Yes, those Beach Boys!  The opening act will also feature a comedian.

The Vijay Amritraj Foundation (VAF) has been proud to serve some of the most needy charities in India over the past four years.  They had the opportunity to visit the causes they have supported and see the difference the contributions have made.

The mission of VAF is to provide assistance to the forgotten; the charities without a voice. These are often the smaller charities of India, who do not have the ability to raise money or awareness for their causes.  To name a few, they are charities rescuing children from prostitution, taking care of the destitute elderly, providing healthcare for villagers and educating slum children.

So come and join the event for the weekend and help support the work that the foundation does in India. General admission for the tennis day is $20 and VIP is $100.  For the concert General Admission is $50 and VIP $250.  They are offering a special VIP Weekend Pass for $300 which includes a reception and dinner both days.

For $3,000, your company will have the opportunity to have ten tickets to the tennis day with food and wine and a table of ten for the reception, dinner and ten seats for The Beach Boys concert.
