Short Sale Association of America (SSAA) has officially launched its short sale platform to real estate agents and brokers.
With over 12 million U.S. homeowners “upside-down†on their mortgage, Jonathan Bowman, founder of SSAA, notes that the industry certainly has its worked cut out, but he says the resources provided by his Kentucky-headquartered organization will empower agents at all levels of expertise to reach and effectively assist as many distressed homeowners as possible.
The new short sale platform features a variety of tools that SSAAsays will streamline an agent’s business from beginning to end. From lead acquisition and management to marketing and education, the trade group stresses that the mobile platform will allow agents to be more proactive and effective at listing and selling distressed properties.
After previewing the SSAA platform, Ellen Shaikun, a broker with RE/MAX, said, “…this is a must for any agent… it will revolutionize the industry.â€
All services and tools provided by SSAA to distressed homeowners are free of charge. Real estate agents nation-
wide can view the new platform and enroll at the SSAA Web site.
SSAA membership also includes a certified custom Web site for each agent. Lead traffic is directed to the agent’s site, where homeowners can take an interactive evaluation that will recommend a course of action based on their current situation. The custom site also incorporates education, information, and tools for homeowners – including sellers and buyers – who are directed to the agent for assistance.
In addition, members will gain access to the organization’s short sale processing software, a library of bank and government short-sale forms, and an auto-responder platform that sends pre-written educational messages to homeowners who have requested additional information through the agent’s customized Web site.
Earlier this year, SSAA launched an interactive pre-notice of default (pre-NOD) map for real estate professionals looking for distressed property leads. Users can find and order pre-NODleads by ZIP code and number of days late on mortgage payments using an interactive heat map.
SSAAÂ says its commitment to expanding the versatility and usability of their custom tools is evident in the most recent updates to the pre-nod heat map and lead management system. Agents can now view and store their pre-nod leads in a database, and then map and pin each property using the built-in Google Maps feature.
National Association of Realtors president, Ron Phipps, recently stated, “You have to be where the market is, not where it was.â€
SSAA says its new short sale platform and other agent tools help real estate professionals adapt to the unique demands of today’s market, putting them right where they need to be.
