Madison County, VA Garden Club News

The Madison Garden Club's annual plant sale was held last week, 5/1/09, in the historic Arcade Building on Main Street in Madison.  This sale helps to support the ongoing beautification projects that the club is involved in.

This Saturday, 5/9/09, the public is invited to the Garden Club's Flower Show, which will be held in the Episcopal Church parsonage in the town of Madison.  All members will contribute an arrangement, and there will be visuals that highlight the history of the club since its inception in 1934.  We are hoping the sun will shine so people can enjoy the beauty created by these industious ladies, and all partake of wonderul snacks, also prepared by this avid group of gardeners.

I understand that your garden club is going to tour Mr. Tidball's new greenhouse. If you wish, I can send you catalogues for Hartley Botanic, Inc. greenhouses. If you can give me an address and how many books you would like to distribute, then I will forward them to you. Or, if you aren't the person who is involved with this garden club, let me know. shelley.newman@hartleybotanic.com
