A Heartwarming Story
Big Reason Why I Do What I Do
Approximately 2 years ago I started working with my friend’s daughter and husband Maria & Pat in their pursuit of finding a home for their family.
My buyers were about to give up after many multiple bids on several properties they made offers on only to lose the bids.
These buyers have been living in the lower level of my friends’ home and saving every dollar they could. This was much to their benefit. They were able to put a large down payment of nearly a third of the purchase price. They were so diligent and I kept encouraging them to hang in there.
Now we know why they had to wait for so long. Maria’s grandfather and grandmother lived in house they ultimately bought this week. Maria’s grandfather actually built the house and her grandfather passed away but the grandmother lived in the house until it was sold about 23 years ago. The woman who bought the house from the family decided to sell it and my buyers were the first in.
There were three offers and theirs was the lowest offer. Because of their letter telling the seller the story, their large down payment, she also chose to finance through New England Moves Mortgage, and remembering how nice my buyer’s family was to her at the time 23 years ago the seller wanted my buyers to have the home. So she accepted their offer.  Â
The joy that came from all this was palpable. The family now has the home that their mom lived in and they spent many holidays there. I am so happy for them and this is one of the big reasons why I love what I do. I am so happy for them and it was worth the long wait. We know where their holidays will be this year. Maria has 4 sisters and wonderful parents who are so excited.Â
