That's almost 50% of the homes on the market!  When I read the NC Association of Realtor's article, I had to wonder how many listing agents took a few minutes to educted their clients before that price reduction?  To me, it's the equivelant of shooting yourself in the foot; if as a motivated agent, you don't strongly encourage your seller to seek the professional advice of an expert Home Stager before taking thousands off the asking price. 

Were those 300K plus people informed of these simple facts?

1. A professional stager's fees are tax deductible?
2. Staged homes sell, consistently in any market, 30% faster than a non-staged homes
3. Staged homes sell on average for 17% higher than non-staged homes
3. The entire cost of staging is always considerably less than a $10-20,000 reduction
4. Their on-line listing photos have mere seconds to wow and invite showings. Their pictures
      are absolutely vital!
5. Were those clients told that Home Staging is a proven, widely accepted real estate
    tool in today's flooded market?

I see horrendous pictures on-line every day.  It is shocking that far too many agents today, in our area, are still bucking the established trend that's swept the nation. It's a win-win, People! By resorting to a substantial price reduction rather than find out WHY a listing isn't seeing enough action, you've taken unnecessary money out of your pocket as well as the client you agreed to represent.  That's truly a shame and a disservice!  Just because we live in a military community, it's old school mentality to think "It doesn't matter; we have turnover regardless."  New construction is hurting the established home sellers and these are not your old real estate days.
