I don't use Supra lockboxes but I have a keypad for other agents listings.  What a joke this product is.  I'm not quite sure why WE as REALTORS have allowed this product to continue.  I have to PAY a yearly fee in order to view properties.!!  What exactly do I get out of it.  Who is really tracking who has visited their properties through this product?  I've always been against the Supra Lockbox/keypad program, but now that my MLS is having us esync EVERY night, I'm about ready to cancel.  It was bad enough to have to sync once a week on Saturday morning, no less, but now having to do it every day is ridiculous.

Please, can't we stop buying these boxes and save ourselves the added expense of having to buy a keypad?  What can we do to stop the use of these?  Also, why can't they be shared?  Every single agent in my office needs to buy one?  How awful is that?

Lets wake up and stop using this system.

  • No Texting law...good or bad???

Oh no!!!  What will I do?  I know that I shouldn't text and drive, but I've just gotten so good at it!  I can drive with one knee, eat a bagel and set up showings all before the next red light!!  Ok, I'm just joking, but I do admit to texting short msgs when I feel its safe and I do read email from my "crack"berry.  Also, I use my phone as an mp3 player and play through the bluetooth in my car stereo.  I use my phone for a lot and I'm just not sure what I can and can't use it for anymore.  I can't do the Oprah thing and leave it in the bag seat, thats just not practical having kids and being in real estate.  I will do my best to NOT text, but I can't guarantee that I won't read emails or texts.

I know that it's bad to use my phone at all, but I think our society has made it acceptable.  I guess, I would feel better if there was a law about not smoking, eating, reading the paper, or having a pet on your lap while driving.  I've seen so many drivers with little dogs on their laps while driving and that seems so much worse to me.  The bottom line is that its all bad and there will be accidents, unfortunately.  Hopefully the new law will reduce our use of texting/talking etc on phones and keep our eyes where they are supposed to be.  It will be tough, but I am going to make an effort.

Thoughts??  Do you text and drive?  Will you stop now?

    Mike
