New York City Slow Zone application deadline Feb 3rd, 2012

Brooklyn New York Neighborhood Slow Zones

Since most Brooklyn Block Associations and Civic groups only meet once a month be advised that the NYC Slow Zone deadline is Friday February 3rd, 2012.

NYC Neighborhood Slow Zones are areas/streets selected by DOT and local community boards where the posted speed limits will be reduced from 30 miles and hour to 20 miles an hour.  The goal of the Slow Zone concept is to reduce the number of accidents and to help reduce noise from traffic in residential neighborhoods.

Slow Zones applications can be submitted by community boards , civic associations  and business development associations to NYC Department of Transportation.  For additional information and applications  visit  NYC Neighborhood Slow Zones

Take advantage of this  DOT program  to help improve  your neighborhood  safety   by reducing the speed limit on the streets in our local Brooklyn Residential neighborhoods.
