Now what in the world does that mean? How can choosing the wrong home price you out of the buyers market? One of my clients has been looking for a home for some time, but just can't seem to get that right house under contract. Every time we submit an offer, someone else outbids her. How can that be with all this inventory today? Are her offers too low, or is something else going on?

My client is searching for a "dream home" on the retail market. When I say dream home, I mean a home that already has all the bells and whistles.. (granite counters, stainless steel appliances, hardwoof floors, vaulted ceilings, fully finished basement, theater room, deck.. Need I say more?)  Although these are amenities my client would like to have come with her home upfront, she is not alone. So would everyone else! Everyone is looking for that perfect foreclosure or resale home that needs very little work and is ready to go.

There are some homes on the market that meet that criteria, but the competition for them is fierce. The consumer who would like to offer a low price hoping to get a deal will get outbid on these homes almost every time.  Are you asking what this means? Am I saying you should bid high in todays market? Not necessarily, it all depends on how badly you want the home and if the price point is in the range that you can comfortably afford.
