    Wonder what lies behind the red door?  Let's check it out.

    Big windows, clerestory, wood floors, crooked ceiling--NICE.

    The main house, here, was designed by Gregory Ain.   According to Wikipedia,

    "Gregory Ain was an American architect active in the mid-20th century. Working primarily in the Los Angeles area, Ain is best known for bringing elements of modern architecture to lower- and medium-cost housing.  Ain was perceived as a communist, and the growing "Red Scare" caused him to lose several opportunities, including participation in the Case Study Program."

    So apparently, that red door has a little more significance than we all thought (wink, wink).

    Comrades, follow me up these stairs to the lap pool and guest house.

    We can sip Leninade as we relax under this red shade.

    This guest house was designed by another American architect, Pierre Koenig.  The Wiki says,

    "Koenig practiced mainly on the west coast and was most notable for the design of the Case Study Houses No. 21 and 22 in 1960."

    This 4 bed, 3.5 bath mid-century architectural is located in Los Feliz.
