We hear all of these horror stories about our friends writing offer after offer and not winning the house. How will we ever win?
When I hear a story about buyers writing three, four, sometimes ten, twelve offers, and not winning the house, I question what is going on. Even in a market where inventory is low, and competition is high, a buyer who wants a house can buy one.
In this market it takes a strategy to win a home; often it is the highest offer, but there is more to winning the house. And sometimes, it means that the buyer needs to stop, sit with your REALTOR®, and have an honest discussion about your resources, your motives, and your timeline. I have found that the buyers who want to buy a home may not win on the first, or maybe the second attempt, but very soon learn what, if any adjustments to thinking are necessary to find their home and successfully buy it.
The home always shows up for those who really want a home.
