Halloween 2010 Haunted Houses
Friday and Saturday – 7:30 p.m. – 12 a.m.
Sunday: 7:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.
What is it?
Thrvillvanis is the most decorated haunted attraction in the United States that has been features on The Tracel Channel’s “Americas Scariest Haunted Attraction” and has been selected as one of the top haunted houses in the nation by MSN, Fangoria, Haunted Attraction Magazine, Readers Digest, AOL and AmericasBestHaunts.com. This year, Thrillvania is featured on Frighthouse on the DIY network. It is 8 different attractions on almost 50 acres. It is an entire night of pure terror.
What is new for 2010?
We have totally changed Cassandra’s Labyrinth of Terror, making it 3D. The results are breathtaking. None of the scares were sacrificed but the visuals are unbelievable. Industry experts have proclaimed it is the most unique attraction in the country. It even has it’s own hour television special on the makeover.
How long does it take?
We like to ask people how fast can they run. Most of the time it takes a couple of hours to experience the whole park. It is definitely worth the price of the admission. The vast majority of patrons come out of each attraction sweating, hyperventilating and thanks us for such a scare.
In 1901, Construction of a strange, twisted structure began on the banks of the Voodoo Bayou, the creation of a psychopathic scientist, Baron Michael Verdun and his vampire wife Lady Cassandra D’Arque. The Antebellum style Manor quickly became the subject of horrifying rumors and much speculation. The new Manor adjoined an old plantation cemetery and Baron Verdun brought in foreign works to dig the deep cellars. Wild stories circulated about Verdun exhuming the dead for more space, or perhaps some darker purpose. When the manor was finished, all the works disappeared overnight, although some say their spirits still haunt the ground on Verdun Manor.
A werewolf, Baron Verdun keenly desired to release the beast that lies within all men, and deep within the hidden recesses of his manor, he conducted cruel, painful experiments on human beings abducted by Lady Cassandra from the surroundings countryside. These mysterious experiments created hideous, malformed creatures. Neither wholly man nor animal Verdun considered these failures and turned them loose on the grounds to fend for themselves, devouring any unwary and unwanted visitor. Nightmarish masquerade balls were hold at Verdun Manor on nights of the full moon, with human flesh served openly to the guests. Stores about Baron Verdun hosting nocturnal hunts, chasing human prey for sport caused the townsfolk to take shelter at night.
Enraged by the creatures’ attack, the townspeople eventually took to the streets. The angry mob tracked the monsters back to Verdun Manor, locking them in the Barons laboratory to die in the raging chemical fire. Cassandra, caught sleeping in her crypt, was decapitated and her body mutilated. Chased down by the vigilantes, Verdun was bludgeoned and stabbed to death and his bloody corpse laid to rest in a deep grave in front of his Manor. Gathering their injures, and their dead, the townsfolk tried to forget the horrors they had seen that night, but the creatures like Baron Verdun and Lady Cassandra, death is more of an inconvenience than and ending.
A year later the mansion and surrounding grounds were sold to a local wealthy landowner, Vincent Carruthers. He made no mention of the house’s terrible past to his family. After all Verdun was dead and the town wanted to forget everything.
On October 31st, under the eerie light of the full moon, the Carruthers and his family were hosting a gala ball in their new home. Little did they realize that Verdun and his vampiric bride were still more alive than dead. They clawed their way out of their graves and burst into the mansion killing Carruthers, his family and all the dinner guests in the most brutal fashion.
Verdun placed the bodies of the Carruthers Family and their guests throughout the house in grotesque scenes of the macabre as a final insult to their memories. He quickly began new experiments and resurrected his past failed attempts. Soon the grounds of Verdun Mansion and the VooDoo Bayoud were once again haunted by the dea, undead, and creatures more beast than man.

Hangman’s House of Horror Legend of the Hangman
They say it was a brisk October night back in 1882 when an angry lynch mob finally put an end to the murderous rampage of Hezekiah Jones, a man known simply as the Hangman. When the sun fell, he would stalk his victims along the banks of the Trinity River and hand them until dead. By his rope, hundreds died.
Then one October night, he was strung up by the neck and his own bloodstained rope. The mob watched as he gasped for breath through the blackened bag covering his face. They left him hanging there in the damp night air to die. But when the gravedigger came back in the morning, all he found was a broken rope dangling from the limb of a rotting oak tree down by the river’s edge.
As legends tell it, the Hangman won’t die until the souls of all his victims are gone. Every ear he takes a soul from his rope to continue his horrible existence. But when they’re used up, he’ll die. Unless of course, he kills again.
Last year marked the final soul left on the Hangman’s rope. Over 25,000 people claimed to have seen the Hangman stalking victims along the banks of the Trinity in search of new souls to carry on his murderous wrath.
No one knows for sure how many new souls he found. But there are telltale signs that he’s looking for victims once again. The sound of jingling spurs, creaking rope and his growling, maniacal laughter have been heard in the area.
You can bet your boots that he will be around again this October, stalking the banks of the Trinity. Be forewarned! He just might come looking for you NECK-XT!

In 1920, native Californian Charles Moxley, his wife Grace and their son William relocated to Dallas, TX where they purchased a large mansion using the inheritance Charles had recently come by after the sudden and tragic death of his parents. The Moxley’s were not used to have so much money and quickly squandered it away on luxurious home décor, hosting lavish parties and several house maids who waited on the family around the clock. On the verge of financial ruin, Charles contracted pneumonia hoping for the worst as he could not see a way out of the large amounts of debt they were quickly accumulating. Grace, unwillingly to watch her husband die, ordered Lillian Marshall, an attractive house maid with a nursing background, to watch over her husband and nurse him back to health. As his recovery was slowly going, Charlie and Lillian began spending a lot of time together and it wasn’t very long before Grace began noticing this as well. One night Lillian and Grace got into a heated argument as Grace accused Lillian of taking advantage of her husband’s condition in hopes of getting close to him. The argument seemed to conclude with Grace storming out of the house as a few housemaids witnessed her drive away.
The next morning Grace was found lying in the living room, face down and her throat slashed. The housemaids were puzzled as no one heard come home and were eager to tell the police what happened hoping they would be able to provide answers. Grace’s death was rules as homicide from an apparent botched robbery.
In the months following, Charles married Lillian, and within a year young William was found bludgeoned to death in his bed.
Even though tragedy loomed over the house, Charles and Lillian felt the only option they had in order to keep the house was to rent out the spare rooms to guests. Converting their mansion into a lodging establishment proved to be very profitable and Lillian fell into the habit of showering the woman and children that came through with lavish gifts, earning her the name of Lady Bountiful.
On November 26th, 1922, Charles Moxley was found shot to death in his own bed. A single bullet had pierced the back of his head from a staged suicide. Local authorities charged Lillian with murder, but she vanished prior to the trial without any explanation in the deaths of Charles, Grace and young William.
The house stood desolate for many years, potential buyers turned off by the horrific tales the town’s people told of murder, jealously and deception. Eventually it was sold to a businessman, eager to re-open the Inn and benefit from the highly profitable business. Unfortunately, the Inn proved to be very unsuccessful for him as he was unable to keep a guest overnight. Most checked out early, complaining of strange disturbances and odd going on’s that they couldn’t explain; a few left without notice all but running out of the house.
To date the house remains abandoned; rumors of it being haunted turning away potential buyers. It is said that Lillian’s ghost still roams the halls tormenting any and all who dare to enter the house.
Moxley Manor Haunted House utilized strobe lights, extremely loud noises, fog effects, realistic props, cinematic gore, power tools, uneven flooring, tight spaces, and in some cases no lights at all. It is intended to be frightening. Performers are specifically trained to scare you.

Long ago, the Kelly family migrated to America from Ireland in search of the fortunes that were rumored to be made here. After settling down and starting a very successful coffin building business, their young daughter, Emma, was stricken with pneumonia. On her death bed she pleaded with her family not to let her die. She warned her family that if she did die, she would come back to get them. The family spent their hard earned fortune try to save her. Her father, Seamus, even tried some ancient Irish pagan rituals. Emma did eventually die, and those rituals her father performed allowed her to keep her promise to come back and get them. Now, the Kelly family is doomed to haunt that house forever. Enter if you dare! Come see if you can make it out alive!

In the late 1800s a wealthy landowners, Dean Delacroix, moved his entire family, estate and holdings from the murky lowlands of Louisiana to Texas. Delacroix built a large manor house referred to as Landrun Manor since the eye could see as far as the land runs. Landrun Manor was erected on an open prairie besides an old, withered cemetery and lush, flowing creek (believed to be in the area now considered the Arlington-Mansfield corridor along the US Highway 287).
Many Delacroix laborers oddly warmed up to having the manor house built next to a cemetery. One Delacroix house servant was a young and beautiful Creole woman named Bedula.
Bedulas Creole ancestors were steeped in the practice of voodoo and the spirituals rituals that come with it. Her mother and her grandmother were highly regarded priestesses from islands of the Caribbean. Bedulas great grandmothers secretly taught young Badula voodoo spells before she could even walk and many of Delacroixs servants and field hands were well aware Bedulas amazing powers of perception and healing even at such a young age.
When Badula turned 17 she became Delacroixs household manager responsible for supervising the staff for the entire estate. This was a position of great honor and responsibility. This also meant Badula had a room of her own in the manor house; she was no longer living amongst those in the cramped and decrepit shacks at the edge of the estate besides the cemetery. Badula settled into her new position of standing and several prosperous years passed by. Badula and Delacroix worked in harmony for many years. Then Badula fell in love with the Manor Stablman. She married and had a child.
The years passed by and Badulas young daughter grew to become a beautiful woman just like her mother. One day, after a long night of drinking with other wealthy landowners, Delacroix long hidden passion for Baduas beautiful young daughter took control of him. His ill thought of advancement on the young house girl enraged Badula. She could not believe the man she had grown to trust and respect could do such a terrible thing. Badula became so infuriated that her powers, all but buried away for nearly two decaded, reared up in fury. Erupting in a rage of anger, Badula cursed Delacroix, his family and land. Reaching back to the days gone by of her voodoo practiced she called upon her ancestors to strengthen her forgone powers and summon to pure evil to infest Delacroix and all of his holdings
