Boston investment management firm Loomis, Sayles & Co. says its moving people around and hiring in order to take advantage of debt investment opportunities in cheap, commodities-producing emerging markets.
The firm, a subsidiary of Natixis Global Asset Management, said it had made Peter FrickÂ its dedicated emerging market debt portfolio manager. He was previously the firmâ€™s global bond and emerging market debt products manager. Heâ€™ll be replaced in that role by new hire Hank Lynch.
Frick joins co-managers Edgardo SternbergÂ and Dave RolleyÂ in the firmâ€™s emerging markets department.
Elisabeth Colleran, formerly a senior analyst, has been made an emerging markets credit strategist.
The firm moved Matt WelchÂ from technology credit research to focus on emerging market credit research.Â Li Ping YeoÂ was hired in Loomisâ€™s Singapore office as a senior credit analyst.
Loomis said the firm manages emerging-market debt assets of about $12 billion.
