    Margie Casey's Blog:

The seaside nautical town of Southport North Carolina is home to antique shops, tasty restaurants folded in with modern conveniences. Sailboats and fishing boats of all types are docked at the Southport Marina. Southport is about 30 minutes south of Wilmington and is located on the mainland. Bald Head Island is to the east of Southport, accessible by ferry. Holden Beach and Oak Island are on the barrier islands to the south, Kure Beach and Carolina Beach on the barrier islands to the north, all accessible by bridges.

Southport North Carolina dates back over 200 years. Majestic live oak trees and Victorian homes with white picket fences add to the southern charm found at Southport. Downtown Southport is an interesting place to explore unique boutiques, art galleries and find delicious places to eat. Southport prides itself on preserving its small town atmosphere, an ideal lifestyle for those seeking to escape the big cities. The quality of life in Southport is centered around the salty air and the sea. Oak Island is the closest beach, without boarding a ferry. Holden Beach is a tad bit farther to the south. Both beach islands are popular vacation areas with two and three story homes built on stilts. Holden Beach is named one of the Best American Beaches making it a hot spot for 3RD HOME luxury home exchanges. Walking paths off the main roadway lead to miles of unspoiled white sandy beaches and...

    Margie Casey's Scorecard:

It's hard to beat this community's safe harbor directly on the Intracoastal Waterway, just west of Holden Beach. Not only a gated marina community, Seascape has a private beach club on Holden Beach. Established in the mid 2000's, SeaScape at Holden Plantation is an established waterfront community in coastal North Carolina built by Mark Saunders of Coastal Communities Inc. We noticed luxury home builder Mark Saunders has refined taste and a pattern of signature designs in their communities; s-shaped roads, lushly landscaped walking trails, ornate gated entrances, attractive coastal architecture and grand clubhouses.

Of the lifestyle amenities found at SeaScape at Holden Plantation, the deep water access and 75 boat slips in a protected marina are the most valuable assets to property owners with boats and sailboats at SeaScape. Boaters at Seascape at Holden Plantation can immediately access to the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean, by passing around the northern tip of Holden Beach, only a few minutes away. Fish, shrimp and oysters are fresh seafood easily caught in the ocean, marshes and waterways of the coastal islands.

The Grande Manor House is the community clubhouse with an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, sauna, meeting space, library and a commercial kitchen for entertaining. At SeaScape at Holden Plantation, the walking paths weave throughout the community under old live oak trees. Protected conservation areas add to the privacy and beauty of the natural wetlands of this waterfront community.
