    Margie Casey's Scorecard:

Waterfront living, championship golf and quick access to the Outer banks describes the perfect combination of lifestyle options in the coastal region of North Carolina found at Albemarle Plantation. It's a tough choice between boating on the Albemarle Sound, heading to the Outer Banks beaches or spending the day on the links golfing the 18 hole championship golf course designed by Dan Maples. The scenic
Albemarle Plantation golf course was rated 4.5 stars by Golf Digest. With a mild four season climate, the pro-shop, practice facility and golf course are open year round for play.

As a full service marina community on the Ablemarle Sound, Albemarle Plantation provides deep water boat dockage for 166 boats up to 60 feet. The Intracoastal Waterway is 22 nautical miles to the east and the Atlantic Ocean is just beyond. Albemarle Plantation has a Marina Cafe and Dockside Market serving delicious coal fired pizza, boxed lunches and basic groceries. Kayak storage and rentals are available at the Albemarle Plantation marina.

Albemarle Plantation's Swim & Fitness center overlooks the Albemarle Sound and serves relaxing cocktails at the Tiki Bar. Two lighted Har-Tru tennis courts are located near the marina, along with volleyball, basketball courts and a children's playground. Three competition level bocce ball courts are ready for action at Albemarle Plantation. The 12,000 square foot golf clubhouse at Albemarle Plantation provides fine dining with panoramic views of the Albemarle Sound. Wildlife and scenic outlooks are easy to spot while walking or biking the miles of trails inside the community.

Albemarle Plantation began development in the early 1990's and is a large master planned community sprawling over 2,800 acres between the two phases, with 28 neighborhoods in Phase I. A bank debt free community, Albemarle Plantation has approximately 478 homes built to date of the 1,000 planned. Over 50 social clubs are active in this gated community. Margie Casey's Blog:

The excitement level is high today as America gets ready to watch game #7 of the World Series. Me, I’m craving peanuts, hot dogs and cracker jacks. Easily distracted, my mind is drifting to the best cities to live in America like Edenton NC. In fact this month, Edenton NC hosted the 36th Annual Peanut Festival. The firstPeanut Festival in Edenton NC was held in 1935 and was primarily a fund raising event for local schools and charities. This year, the ASSA Peanut Regatta, a 5K Peanut Run, the Battle of the Bands, an old fashioned parade and a outdoor craft fair were activities at the Peanut Festival in Edenton NC. The ‘Beachnuts’ band rocked the stage at sunset while residents boogied in the streets. Courtney Young, resident of Albemarle Plantation, took the sailing trophy home, winner of the 2011 ASSA Peanut Regatta.

God bless America and our beautiful country that we have so many small towns celebrating the simplicity of life. I visited Edenton NC this past summer while researching the entire coast of North Carolina from top to bottom. Edenton NC is due west of the northern Outer Banks, to me the most beautiful region on the Outer Banks. To get to the Outer Banks from Edenton NC, you cross a number of bridges over the Albemarle Sound. The Albemarle Sound is a huge expansive protected waterway west of the Outer Banks and is a popular sailing venue.

When it comes to retirement, its hard to decide where to set the population dial in our heart. Do we want to live in rural America or exciting Nash Vegas? That's Nashville in case you haven't heard the nickname. Like peanuts, it all boils down to the cost of living, proximity to family and quality of life. Master planned communities like Albemarle Plantation provide affordable waterfront living, golf club lifestyles and social clubs bonding the community together. Choosing a master planned community like Albemarle Plantationwho is debt free, is also a sound financial decision. Albemarle Plantation just released...
