Tri-Valley's Newest Public High School to Start Free Summer Session on July 6
Livermore Valley Charter Preparatory High School (LVCP) will hold a free Summer School Session July 6th through July 29th from 9:00AM to 1:30PM. This summer session is open to all enrolled LVCP students and current 8th graders at Livermore Valley Charter School (LVCS). LVCP and LVCS students who would like to continue the learning process over the summer in a small and supportive environment are highly encouraged to attend.
In addition to math and language instruction, the free summer session will dedicate time to team-building exercises and leadership skill development in order to facilitate a smooth transition to the rigorous program at LVCP. No grades, homework, or credit will be given. Regular attendance is expected; however, given advance notice, LVCP will work closely with families through vacation plans.
Opening this fall, LVCP is a new public high school that will provide an exemplary college preparatory education in a small school environment. Led by Dr. Jeffrey Watkins, LVCP is staffed with an excellent team of teachers and counselor who will challenge students to reach their full potential. The team at LVCP knows what makes a great school:
   * Competent teachers and counselors who are committed to the success of all students
   * Strong leadership from a principal with the vision and the expertise to develop a world-class comprehensive high school program
   * Rigorous curriculum and behavioral standards that will put all students on the path to college
   * A safe and nurturing environment where no student will fall through the cracks
   * Supportive parents who are eager to be part of the process
Fall Enrollment at LVCP is currently open to all students who will be starting 9th grade in Dublin, Livermore, and beyond. LVCP will be located at 2451 Portola Avenue, Livermore, CA 94551, for the 2010-2011 school year. For some families in Dublin, LVCP will actually be closer than Dublin High School, especially now that Dublin Boulevard can connect directly to Fallon Road.
