Two local companies will partner to construct a 30,000-square-foot Class A student housing development near TCU.
Powers & Curtis will team up with Atlas Properties to build the
12-unit luxury townhome project on the corner of Cantey and Palmer
Avenues, across from the TCU campus, named Cantey Town Homes.
According to an announcement, Powers & Curtis will act as the
builder/developer for the development. TCU Cantey Partners LLC, which is
controlled by P&C/Atlas, acquired a half acre site across the
street from the Smith Entrepreneur Hall at TCU on Aug. 1.
The acquisition is the second phase of a partially completed condo
development that started in 2008. TCU Cantey Partners plans on leasing
the entire project to TCU students rather than selling them off as
The three-story townhomes will include a monthly cleaning service,
private garage parking, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances
and hardwood floors.
“The project’s location, amenities, and proximity to local retail
will be very popular amongst TCU students” said Chris Powers, principal
at Powers & Curtis, in the announcement.
Atlas Properties purchased and renovated downtown Fort Worth’s Historic Electric Building apartments in 2009.
Construction is set to begin Aug. 8 with a completion date in March
2012. The project is being financed with a combination of equity and
senior debt provided by Mutual of Omaha Bank.
