Texas Health Resources, based in Arlington, announced Jan. 6 it plans to break ground later this year on a new full-service hospital in north Tarrant County near the intersection of Interstate 35 and Golden Triangle Boulevard.
Groundbreaking is scheduled for the fall, with tentative plans for the hospital to offer services in late 2011, according to a release. Texas Health is designing and planning the hospital now. Plans include an emergency room, outpatient and surgical services, physician offices and acute-care inpatient beds.
Barclay E. Berdan, senior executive vice president of system alignment and performance at Texas Health, said in the release that the northern part of Tarrant County is one of the fastest-growing communities in North Texas but has limited health care resources.
“Our top priority is to bring necessary medical services to the community so that care can be accessed close to home,†he said.
Texas Health already has some presence in that area with two physician office buildings in Saginaw and Keller.
Other Alliance projects in that area include Presidio Junction, a 300-acre planned project under development by LNR Commercial Property Group at Interstate 35 and North Tarrant Parkway. LNR Commercial Property officials said the planned hospital developments are fueling interest in office space.
