Highlands Point

For a nice one hour walk, roundtrip, start from Red Tail Park in Firelight off Wildcat Reserve Parkway, go west through the little park and then turn left, going south on a gravel trail uphill to 6,300 feet above see level for the best views around!  This is the highest point in Highlands Ranch.  There are markers at the top pointing out Pikes Peak, Devils Head, Mount Evans and Longs Peak.  On a clear day the entire front range can be seen, downtown Denver, Lone Tree, Roxborough, Highlands Ranch and the Backcountry Wilderness Area.  You can keep going on the Chatfield-CherryCreek (East-West Regional Trail) for a longer walk and come back on smaller trails in the hillside.  The walk and the views are just marvelous!
