Fun things to see and do on Whidbey Island

Purchasing a home on Whidbey is more than just sticks and bricks.  Being part of the community also means participating in community events, volunteering for local organizations and getting to know what makes Whidbey as special place to live, work and play.
Up coming events in March are:
March 6 the Mussell Festival in town Coupeville, 10:00 AM.  The bi-valve kind, not the burly weight lifter type.  An excellent chance to same delicious mussell's served up by local restaurants in the "chowder off". There is an art walk and a beer tent, with fresh mussell's available for purchase.
March 29, 2009 is the Whidbey Island Marathon and Half Marathon. The organizers are promising a new course this year.  The event is held in and around Oak Harbor and is one of the most scenic courses in the Pacific Northwest, making it fun to participate in as well as watch.
