Elk's Polar Plunge

Elk's Polar Plunge

A gathering of Elk's members and friends will take the Polar Plunge challenge on New Year's Day, Sunday, January 1st, at noon, at Rexhame Beach in Marshfield to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Program.

The Wounded Warrior Project began in 2005, when several veterans and friends, moved by stories of the first wounded service members returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq, took action to help others in need.  What started as a program to provide comfort items to wounded service members has grown into a complete rehabilitative effort to assist warriors as they recover and transition back to life.

Last year the Polar Plunge raised almost $2,000.  The event is sponsored by Marshfield Elks Lodge #2494.
