“So how’s the Real Estate Business, Leigh?” This is a question I have been asked countless times in recent months from concerned friends, family, and clients. “With the economy, it must be tough for you. How are you doing” This question always baffles me, because as far as my Fort Collins based real state business is concerned, I wouldn’t believe there was a problem with the economy. The Fort Collins market is holding its own. Homes are selling everyday and this market is doing great! I just closed 2 homes last Friday and am expecting 2 offers on one of listings later today! 
 
I'm not even sure that the economy is very much affected by the economy. I mean, housing is a fundamental need. Buying and Selling is determined by, I think, peoples life changes. 

And we all have those! Change is a constant! One day, Grandma and Grandpa believe it’s time to downsize -to move into a maintenance free townhome. One couple is expecting a new baby and they need a bigger home  -one with a big playroom. Another family who may have some good equity in their home, decide they want to “move up”   -sell their home and use their proceeds for a down payment on a nicer home.
This is life and homes are selling everyday in Fort Collins because of it.

So if the housing market is determined by personal life changes, why are some locations in the country having such a bad time?
Just some thoughts.
