. . . this short post is just to get the ball rolling. I am curious as
to what other agents think about the subject, but I think we are having
a small fall bounce in the Barrington market area. I don't think the
market is changing in any radical way, but I do think that motivated
sellers who reduce their price and are flexible with buyers may just be
able to sell before we hit the November cliff.
Signs of the bounce include increased showing activity, increased web hits on listings on Realtor.com and the MLS. And, of course, there has been a small increase in contracts being written, --the true sign of a bounce. My advice to sellers would be to stage, stage, stage, price it right, have open houses and an additional broker's tour (i.e., Realtor open house), and make your flexibility known to buyers.
