  • Two interesting articles

Posted Under: Market Conditions in Fort Wayne  |  January 12, 2010 12:22 PM  |  1,510 views  |  No comments

There were two interesting articles on smartmoney.com today.  The first dealt with 10 mistakes home sellers make.  Number four on their list was skimping on listing photos.

    "4. Skimping on listing photos.

The Internet is the first stop for many home shoppers. How you present your home online is just as important as how it looks during the open house. Sellers should include as many pictures as allowed on real estate listing sites and on the local Multiple Listing Service, an online clearinghouse of property listings, says Nelson. Highlight the rooms and features home shoppers care about the most: the kitchen, bathrooms and outdoor space."

Not only do you need photos you need good photos.  Remember more and more people are turning to the Internet and your photos say a lot about you and the property.  Buyers may pass on your listing just because the photos were bad.  At Peripheral Vision Tours  we can help you with all your photo/virtual tour needs.  From advice, to shooting your property, we are here to make you look your best!

The other article was about 10 things you shouldn't buy in 2010.  We all know the newspaper industry as a whole is shrinking.  I was a little surprised buy how much, how quick.

    "Newspaper subscriptions

The past few years have been unkind to the publishing industry.

In 2008, newspaper advertising revenues declined by 17.7%, according to the Newspaper Association of America. Meanwhile, average daily circulation at 379 newspapers fell 10.6% from April through September 2009, compared to the same period a year ago, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations.

Magazines haven't fared any better. In 2009, more than 360 magazines shut down. During the first half of 2009, ad pages fell 27.9% when compared to the same period in 2008, according to Publishers Information Bureau.

The morning newspaper has been replaced by a growing online media presence - much of which is accessible for free. The Amazon Kindle - even with its price tag of around $250 - and other eBook readers could increasingly become one-stop sources to access newspapers, magazines and books."

Now I don't think you should go cancel all your lisitings in the paper.  I do think as we start this new year every Realtor should take a good look at their marketing and marketing budgets.  Do you want to spend that much on a service that is not getting seen as much as it used to?  If you are doing little or no Internet marketing do you need to increase it?  Those are some tough questions to answer.  Change is hard.  But if you are not taking advantage of Internet marketing you are losing A LOT.

For all your virtual tour and online marketing needs visit Peripheral Vision Tours.  We specialize in virtual tour photography and marketing.

  • Happy New Year!

Posted Under: Home Selling in Fort Wayne  |  January 12, 2010 12:20 PM  |  1,513 views  |  No comments

Last year was an exciting year for me and Peripheral Vision Tours!  I started this business in July of last year and then my wife and I decided to move.  Whoa have I been busy.  We are now getting settled in and just wanted to update you on what Peripheral Vision Tours has to offer the Fort Wayne and surrounding area Realtors.

Peripheral Vision Tours is a locally owned virtual tour company.  We are partnered with Real Tour Vision (RTV) the industry leader in virtual tours.  We offer great service with competive virtual tour pricing.

All of our tours now have FREE Virtual Tour Traffic Reporting 2.0.  This provides you the source of sales leads.

Supplies data showing which rooms and scenes within the tours are being viewed most

Easily accessible by using the convenient "On Demand" button located directly within the virtual  tour window, and

Delivers weekly reports to keep you and those you specify up to date with property activity.  The more you know, the better you can decide where your time, energy and marketing dollars go!

In addition, we have social networking built in to all our tours.  In just one click, your virtual tour can be submitted to popular social book marking and networking sites such as: Digg, Delicious, Furl, Facebook, FriendFeed, MySpace, BackFlip, LinkedIn, Reddit, Twitter, StumbleUpon, Technorati, Mixx and Bebo. Now you, your customers, and their friends can bookmark your virtual tours on these sites!! Start social book marking your tours today by clicking on the "Share Tour" tab on any of your virtual tours.

We were also pleased to announce PVT Text Connect in December.

The PVT TxT Connect mobile marketing / lead capture system is available 24/7 and works by instantly responding to requests for detailed property information from potential buyers.

    • The Real Estate agent simply adds a sign rider with a property identifier and a short code to their yard sign.
    • The cell phone user sends a text message such as "HOME" to the short code "43766".
    • Within seconds the PVT TxT Connect system delivers detailed property information to their cell phone.
    • The agent controls the information in the download. It can include prices, features, and direct web links to photos, as well as agent contact information.

Some of the key benefits of the PVT TxT Connect system include:

    · Takes advantage of today's text popularity and smart phone technology

    · Easy to use for the prospect - 154 million people in the US text daily, 107% year/year increase, median age 38, in 2007 36% of American Seniors who own a cell phone text

    · Easy to setup for the realtor - completely portable from property to property

    · Generates leads to your phone and email

    · No more empty flyer boxes - disappointing prospects and clients

    · Inspires confidence in YOU, shows that you are tech savvy

    • Peripheral Vision Tours incredibly low pricing makes this a *** Best Buy *** for your advertising dollar - as low as $2.95 per month, per listing when purchasing our Best Buy 10 property pack!!
