As I walk around the Hawthorne neighborhood
, I never seem to get bored. There are so many great places to enjoy that as the sun is rising and setting. Walking up and down Hawthorne Blvd, you will come across places such as the Hawthorne Hostel, Artichoke music, Mio Sushi, Powell's Books on Hawthorne, the super-cool Baghdad Movie theater, and more pubs then you can shake a soggy stick at. I don't think I scratched the surface of great places of interest on that strip.
The neighborhood itself has a bit of a fun, eclectic and creative vibe to it. You can see it in the people in their shops, on the sidewalks and in their homes. Many people moving to Portland always seem to end up in the Hawthorne district early on in their stay. I have noticed a very friendly and aware community where many neighbors know each other and cool block parties would not be a rare sight. Portland relocation
into the Hawthorne District can be great if you are seeking that kind of vibe.
I have seen many Hawthorne homes for sale
with the charm and unique style that you would expect to see in such a creative community. There is so much to talk about, I would love to share more about Portland's Hawthorne neighborhood
